Named in honor of Edith Dabbs' original circular butterfly garden, this sheltered corner of the property invites guests to slow down, linger awhile, and enjoy the quieter moments that often become the most memorable.

At its center stands a fountain crowned by a graceful figure carrying a water vessel. Though a more recent addition to the garden, she seems perfectly at home here—as though she has been quietly watching over Rip Raps for generations. The gentle sound of water, the shade of mature trees, and the surrounding gardens create an atmosphere that feels both timeless and welcoming.

The garden is framed by camellias, azaleas, native woodland plantings, and one of the property's most treasured trees—a magnificent live oak that has served as the "tree house tree" for generations of children. Today, a rope swing hangs from its branches, delighting visitors young and old while providing one of the most charming photo opportunities on the grounds.

Beneath the trees, a carpet of Walter's violets spreads naturally across the landscape, creating a carpet that feels less designed than discovered. Throughout the seasons, guests find themselves returning here to see what is blooming, what butterflies have arrived, and what small surprises the garden has revealed.
